Della plodded cheerfully down to the dance studio during her free period, after stopping off at her dorm to change quickly into a pair of black shorts and a plain white t-shirt. She opened the door and peered inside, smiling to herself as she saw that no one else had stolen her safe haven while she was getting her bag. Shutting the door softly behind her, the thin girl felt along the wall for the light switch, her hand trailing over the bumpy paint until she reached it and flipped it on. The quiet buzzing of fluorescent lightbulbs filled the air, and she smiled. Having not had much of an opportunity to come into the studio the past few days, it was nice to be back. It almost felt like a second home to her.
Trotting happily over to the mirrors, she dropped the bag she had brought filled with leg warmers, her ballet shoes, tap shoes, random shoes and a few bottles of water, on the floor, where it hit with a soft thud. Della sunk to the ground cross-legged, adjusting herself so that she could stretch out her legs well. Pointing her toes, she extended her legs as far to the sides as they would go, reaching from side to side to stretch her hips and avoid pulling a muscle again. The last time that had occurred, she had been unable to walk up stairs easily for nearly a week! That had meant no fun for an ENTIRE WEEK! For someone as energetic and excitable as Del, that was pure torture. But now she was better, and had made sure to stretch so that it would never ever happen again.
With a smile, the small blonde stood up again once she was finished stretching her legs out, arching her back to stretch it too and then glancing in the mirror with a smile. As she brushed a stray piece of her wavy gold hair behind her small ear, Della bit her lip, scrutinizing her expression in the mirror. Touching her nearly flat stomach self-consciously, the blonde tried to avoid thinking negatively about her appearance, instead trying to focus her thoughts on another topic. Doing so was easy, there were so many good things she could think about now that the party fiasco was over and done with.
Snapping her fingers, she skipped over to her bag and pulled out the CD that Sebastien had bought for her when they went shopping. Ah, Owl City. Opening the case, she popped the CD into the big player, going through the songs until she reached The Saltwater Room. Hitting play, she smiled, closing her eyes for a moment as the song started. It was one of her favourites by him, and a good song to dance to when she didn't feel like rushing. With a gleaming white smile on her face again, Della walked back to the middle of the studio and began to dance, becoming lost in her own world as she twirled.
