Darin was one of the first out of the Assembly. When it ended he had quietly gotten up and got out while everyone else was still talking and saying their goodbyes. He wanted to go outside the grounds into the woods for some quiet time to himself, but he ended up getting stopped by some professor and instructed to go to his dorm. He didn't like that very much, but he wasn't one to argue.
He made his way quickly to the Windsor dorms and up to his room. He didn't bother to look around at anything beforehand. He hoped he wasn't spotted by a bunch of people and pointed out as the new kid. With haste he made it to his room, got inside and shut the door leaning back against it. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. He then stood up opening his eyes and walked around the room taking in the view. It was huge, but that was nothing he wasn't used to from home. He only hoped whoever was going to be in here was really nice, or if not at least kept to themselves.
He walked over to one of the large beds and sat down on the foot of it. He slumped over and sighed. This was not his type of place to be in. He may have been a rich kid like everyone else, but he never really tried living like one. He wasn't into designer clothes, he wasn't into having the most expensive car. He just enjoyed being an average guy. The most extravagant thing he had was his Ipod touch, but he had acctually worked over the summer to earn it himself. Not many rich kids would do that.
So far it seemed he was alone in the dorm so he sighed with relief and layed back on the bed. He was relieved to know he'd get a little time to himself. He'd have time to regather his thoughts.

Sébastien burst into Windsor 306, his Ipod blasting Peter, Bjorn & John. He nodded his head to the music and didn't notice someone was on the opposite bed till he chucked his bag on the floor. He looked up and saw someone who seemed to be new. Sébastien smiled his trademark grin, plucking his earbuds out of his ear.
"Hey, I didn't know there was a new kid. I'm Sébastien."
He said, looking down at the new kid, smiling. He guessed he was maybe a year younger from his height, but his face looked like maybe he was in his year.

Darin jumped up as the other guy burst into the room. He hadn't quite expected such a loud entrance. Darin was on his feet now, in a little bit of a shock. When the guy took out his earbuds and addressed Darin in a manner that didn't appear as though he was angry with him, Darin lightly smiled. He knew not everyone was bad, but Darin had a hard time believing there could be so many nice people. There never were before.
He nodded at Sebastien with his light smile, "Pleasure to meet you, I'm Darin." Then out of instinct from doing it so many years he put his hands together and bowed as though he were back in the dojo. When he stood he felt his heart race because he felt stupid for doing such a gesture in this place. It was just such a habit, he didn't think of it until he already did it.

Sébastien grinned at Darin's grand gesture.
"Well... nice to meet you too."
He said, smiling. He wasn't teasing Darin or anything, he just found it amuseing. Sébastien flopped down on his bed and plugged the sound dock in, he turned on his music and the music he was listening to earlier flowed through the speakers.
"You don't mind, do you?"
He asked, looking at Darin.

He shook his head, "No of course not." Lightly he smiled as he sat back down on the foot of his bed. He had already long ago had his things put away, for he didn't want to be a nuisance to whoever he was rooming with because his stuff may be in their way. He really wasn't sure what to say, or rather if he should say anything at all. After all, the guy was listening to his music, and he didn't want to be rude and interrupt over what many might think as meaningless talk. It probably was just meaningless talk anyways. It's not as though Darin really had anything important to ask or address. So he decided to just stay quiet and gaze out the window. He couldn't get in trouble for that, could he?

Sébastien smiled and started taking his things out, throwing them around haphazardly. He wasn't usually messy, but he wasn't a neat freak either. Once he had everything where he wanted it to be, he flopped down on the bed and flipped open his sketchbook.
"So, Darin. Where you from?"
Sébastien asked, as he started drawing. He looked up at Darin, smiling.

He looked over at the guy quickly, quite shocked that he was actually the one starting what so many called 'small talk'. He didn't disapprove of it, but he was never one to ask the questions. He was more than happy to answer however. "Oh... uh... I'm from New York." He stopped and quickly added on to it. "Manhattan." Before he let enough time slip by for the other guy to say something he added again, "Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking of course..." He trailed off.

"Why would I mind?"
Sébastien grinned. This guy seemed nice, but he was really shy. Hopefully he could pull him out of his shell.
"I'm from right here in Pennsylvania."
He said, smiling as he added some finishing touches to his sketch.
"I have a sister in our grade, maybe you've seen her and her friends. They're the loud ones."
He said, laughing.

He lightly smiled again, "They're all loud to me honestly." Being the quiet kid, there wasn't much of a distinction between who was quieter and who was louder. In his eyes they all easily conversed where he didn't. He was happy to see however that this guy wasn't going to flip out on him for something that made no sense to Darin. He always tried his best to be nice and respectful, but it wouldn't be the first time someone took it the wrong way.

Sébastien laughed and closed his sketchbook.
"This your first time at a boarding school?"
Sébastien asked, smiling. He was always good with small talk, and he never had an awkward conversation. And besides, Darin was nice and he wanted to get to know him better.

He nodded and sighed. "My parents thought at first the hardships of a public school could do for me what it did for them. But a friend of them told them otherwise, so here I am." He really missed home, and most of all he missed martial arts. He had a feeling he wouldn't find much of that around here, and most definitely no tournaments anymore.
At the same time, home really wasn't much of a home. He remembered how his parents never payed attention to him. They were always to busy working with clients and business partners. When Darin really thought about it, he didn't even know what they did for work, he just knew they made a lot of money doing it.

Sébastien nodded, listening intently to Darin. Sébastien didn't know what it felt like to be the new kid, but he was sure it was hard. Moving, meeting new people... He would probably have a hard time dealing with all that. Then again, he really did miss Snt. Bahrts. Especially Cammie. Everywhere he looked, it reminded him of her, but, she broke up with him. Long distance relationship never worked, that was what she said. He was determined to get his mind off of her. He turned so his feet were on the edge of the bed.
"Do you want to go meet the others?"
He asked Darin, smiling at him.

He smiled lightly at his next question, until it finally sunk in that is. When it did he sort of froze. Meeting and talking to one person was alright, and Darin was able to do ok with that. But when he mentioned meeting the others, Darin had no idea how many others he meant for him to meet. He didn't know how to respond either. Well no, rather he sort of forget how to talk for the moment. He just looked down trying to think.

"hellooo? Darin??"
Sébastien looked at Darin who seemed to be in a catatonic state.

Darin looked up quickly. "Uh... I don't... I don't know..." He couldn't think of anything else to say. He wasn't trying to be rude, and it wasn't like he didn't want to meet other people, he was just extremely nervous about it. This wasn't exactly his strong point in life.
