It was about eight o'clock in the evening when the cab pulled up to Channing House. Kyrie had been on a plane from Portland all day, and she was so happy to be home. She stepped out, grabbed her luggage, and paid the driver. Then she stood there staring at the house, totally awestruck. She and Kara had always squealed about their plans to be in Channing house when they were underclassmen. Now, after a year apart, they were gonna live their dream.
She pulled her huge suitcase and duffel bag up the stairs of the house and set them in front of the door. Then, taking a deep breath, she knocked. I mean, it was Channing house...she couldn't just waltz in, could she? She was so glad to be back home. Eating disorder rehab was a bitch and she had missed her school and best friend so much.

Kara walked down the path towards Channing, past the quad. The cold, brisk air hit her reddened cheeks and some of her long, golden locks whipped in her face from the wind. She breathed in, looking around at the trees, wishing she had her camera with her so she could take a picture. As she neared Channing, she saw a petite, slender frame come out of a cab, hauling her luggage up the steps to Channing. A grin spread across Kara`s lips and she quickened her pace.
"Kyrie!"
She squealed gleefully, running up and hugging her best friend as she turned around.

Kyrie heard her name called, and automatically knew it was her best friend, Kara. She turned around to see the other girl running towards her. Kyrie grinned and stepped towards, being caught in a hug. She hugged Kara, then pulled back and looked at her. She looked exactly the same: absolutely fabulous. Kyrie laughed, so completely happy to be home.
"Kara! I missed you so much. What is this Housing tells me about us being roommates!?" She asked. Her parents had been emailing Epson about her arrangements, since they couldn't possibly take time out of their own lives to drop her off. But then had assigned her with Kara, and they'd be living together. It was pure luck.
"God, I'm so happy to be back. This past year has been horrid. I have so much to tell you!"

Kara shrieked with laughter, happy to be re-united with her best friend once more. She liked her other Channing dorm mates, but she couldn't talk to them about things like she did with Kyrie. Kyrie has been her best friends since they were young, and although Kara was older, it didn't matter. She would really miss Kyrie when she was away at college next year but she knew her and Kyrie would be friends forever- sandbox love never dies, after all.
"No freaking way! We're roomies? Can this year get any better?"
She said, laughing. She helped Kyrie with her luggage and opened the door to Channing House, leading Kyrie to their new dorm.
"I'm so happy you're back! I missed you so much, It just wasn't the same,"
She gushed as they made their way down the hall. They stopped in front of Channing 205 and Kara opened the door with her room key. When Kyrie mentioned she had things to tell her, Kara smiled contently. She loved talking with Kyrie.
