BECAUSE THERE'S A MILLION WAYS TO GO,[/center]

ugh. It was a groggy morning indeed. Kyrie absolutely hated waking up before...well, like three in the afternoon. Right now, it was eight. She had a class at nine thirty, and unfortunately, was running extraordinarily early. That was just the way she was. Wake up way too early, complaining about the time, then get ready fast because you think you'll be late...and end up over an hour early. Now she had plenty of time to kill before her World Literature class. So, she had walked across campus to the Cafe, which was conveniently just a few blocks away from the building her class was held in. She went to the counter, ordered a small vanilla latte (non-fat, but with extra espresso of course) and found a seat at a small table in the corner, tossing her bag next to her chair.
Once settled, Kyrie glanced up, looking around the nearly empty cafe. Most of the kids at Epson were either in bed or in class right now, so there were only like two other people in the building. The tiny brunette girl took a sip of her coffee, then set it down on a napkin. Her eyes wandered back towards the counter, where a case of warm, delicious muffins sat cooling. Her mouth practically watered. She wanted one so bad. But those things had to be like, 500 calories each, right? That was pure suicide. She could go a whole day on less than that. So, she sipped obsessively on her coffee, and stared out the window, trying to distract herself.
But then, of course, her mind started wandering. She'd been home for what, a week? She'd spent a tiny portion of that time with Kara, her best friend and partner in crime. But the rest of it had been spent with Jesse-- her sudden "perfect stranger" boyfriend. She cringed a little at the thought of it. God, what was she doing? I mean, he was nice, he was cute, and he seemed to like her enough. But it seemed like both of them were just time-killers for the other. They hardly knew each other! But it always seemed like Channing girls and Windsor boys had to be together-- they were just fitting in the mold. Oh well, she'd see where it went. But she'd hate herself a little bit every step of the way.
Sighing in resignation, Kyrie reached into her bag. First, she looked at her cell phone (it was eight forty) then grabbed her favorite book out of the front pocket- Wuthering Heights. She had read it about ten times, but it never got old. She leaned back in her chair, took another sip of the coffee, then opened the novel, its worn spine cracking with age. She skipped to her favorite part and began reading calmly.
